Re: Portmeiricon 2005
Wed, February 2, 2005 - 6:32 PMOddly, I think I'd like to see Portmerion for the first time without the convention. Just to see it. -

Re: Portmeiricon 2005
Wed, February 2, 2005 - 6:37 PMYeah, I was there in 1996 during a non-conference time. It's a really cool place. The stone boat is on the beach. The place looks so much like it did in the series. There is an amazing Pet Cemetary off in the woods behind it too.

Re: Portmeiricon 2005
Sun, February 6, 2005 - 3:48 PMI'd dig to visit this, too, if only to figure out how one properly pronounces the Welsh name of the host town. Ponty Fin Roodle Death, isn't it? (-; Also, I wonder how much it costs to rent Number 6 (the room, not the title character) for the night? -

Re: Portmeiricon 2005
Mon, February 7, 2005 - 2:47 PMThe closest town I remember to Portmeirion is Porthmadog.
Sadly, the apartment for #6 used in the series is now the Prisoner gift shop and (when I was there) was not decorated as it was during the series. I have no idea what it looks like now, but they would definitely draw more of a crowd if they had it done up like #6's place.

Re: Portmeiricon 2005
Mon, April 11, 2005 - 4:23 PMi remember hearing that the real #6 is actually quite small inside. Thus it might not be possible for them to decorate it like No. 6's apartment in the series.
